Playin' with Fire (Composite Breakdown)

This was quite a fun project to work on as there were various challenges I had to work my way out, mainly on the lighting and effects.

Playin' with Fire (Composite Breakdown)

Some compositing problems were faced prior to the completion of this project, mainly because I didnt have a HDRI image that was closely related to the surroundings for lighting my 3D Vehicle. Hence, I went to shoot a HDRI image myself with different exposures using a Ladle (not the most reflective item to be used but it still works fine).

Hdri Image

One of the more fun parts of this project was that I'm able to take a HDRI photo for my own use, tedious but the efforts used to make the Mini Cooper look seemless was worth it. I used a ladle as a reflective ball to capture the image, cheap but good for projects under budget-cuts.

Chrome Ball

After taking the HDRI, it was used to test out in the 3D scene over my image plane sequence, and it all worked well.

Smoke

Initial Tests on the Fire, I realized that there wasn't any fluidity as I placed sprites on the particles and they were giving irregular rotations. Due to the fact that it's closer to the camera, I had to give up on this idea and worked on flames using pyro instead.
